About Parrish Swanson

Parrish Swanson is a Kentucky-based designer, developer and photographer with more than 20 years of experience turning ideas into work that is clear, usable and good to look at.

He has designed and built websites, responsive emails and user interfaces for organizations including Capital One, Humana and Humana Military. Today he is a Knowledge Management Web Designer supporting the U.S. Army, where he helps migrate the Army ROTC and JROTC WordPress sites and designs SharePoint and Power Apps solutions. As an Equity and Accessibility Specialist with the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet, he redesigned forms and web content so they work for everyone, following WCAG and inclusive design practices.

Parrish’s love of photography began in 1992. His mother went to a pawn shop in their small town and bought him the best camera she could afford, an Olympus OM film camera. He didn’t know anything about cameras, and no one in his family had ever owned one, but he figured out how to use it, and his love of photography was born. Since then he has photographed youth and cross-country sports, events at Churchill Downs, the multi-day Bike MS ride from Reynosa, Mexico to Louisville, and mission work in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, along with the birthdays and family moments that matter most.

With a B.A. in Fine Arts and History from Presbyterian College, he brings an artist’s eye and a technologist’s discipline to every project, whether you need photography, design, development or consulting.
